The Department of Classics at McMaster University will hold a memorial service for Dr. Sandy McKay on Sunday, October 28 at 2:00 in the Council Chambers, Gilmour Hall 111. Everyone is welcome to attend. Since Sandy was so popular, we have decided to solicit anecdotes and reflections on his life and contribution to Classics from the Classics community at large. If you'd like to send a few sentences or a paragraph about Sandy, please send them as attachments (in Word) by October 15 to Michele George at: georgem AT mcmaster.ca. We'll compile them into a booklet and make it available to anyone who'd like a copy at the service; we'd also welcome photographs. This will also allow everyone to contribute to the service without making it a very long event indeed (which it might well be if everyone who knew Sandy was given time to speak) and will make a lovely keepsake for Jean, Danae, and Julie.
