The Department of Greek and Latin at The Ohio State University invites
applications for a tenure-eligible position in Latin literature at the
rank of Assistant Professor, starting September 2008, with
specialization in the literature of the first and second centuries CE.
The candidate must have the Ph.D. or be able to assure its completion by
June 30, 2007. Promise in teaching and scholarship is essential.
Teaching responsibilities will include a variety of undergraduate and
graduate courses at all levels, including courses in the original
languages and courses in Classical literature in translation, mythology,
and ancient societies and cultures. Candidates should send a complete
dossier, including a Curriculum Vitae, three letters of recommendation,
and a writing sample of no more than 30 pages. Additional evidence of
accomplishment in teaching and research may subsequently be requested.
