Salary scale: £ 25,333 to £38,448 per annum
Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in the Department of Classics, Ancient History and Egyptology, reference 4455
Applicants should have a record of high quality research and the ability to teach widely in the Classical languages and their literature and culture. The successful candidate will play a leading role within KYKNOS, the Centre for Research on the Narrative Literatures of Antiquity, and will be expected to contribute fully to the provision of teaching in the BA schemes in Classics, Greek, Latin, Classical Civilisation, and Ancient History, and to teaching and supervision at MA and research levels. A capacity for working as part of a team is essential.
Applicants should have a good first degree and a PhD in an appropriate area of Greek or Latin literature. They must have demonstrated research achievement or potential in the field of Classical narrative literature. Experience of teaching in the area of Classical literature and culture at University level would be an advantage. Applicants close to completion of a PhD may be considered.
